WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

1. To serve all humanity with compassionate, humble hearts.

“ Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves. Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.” [Philippians 2:3-4] 

2. To maintain a strong focus on building meaningful relationships.

“ All of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous.” [1 Peter 3:8]

3. To approach all individuals with open minds and open hearts.

“When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, ‘Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?' But when Jesus heard this, He said, ‘It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick. But go and learn what this means: I desire compassion and not sacrifice, for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinner.” [Matthew 9:11-13] 

4. To offer people the hope that comes through knowing Christ.

“Hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” [Romans 5:5] 

5. To allow the love and grace Jesus has shown to overflow to the world

"To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with 
all the fullness of God"  Eph. 3:19

6. To portray the true heart of Jesus

“God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” [John 3:17] 

7. To stay focused and committed to fully and passionately living out our beliefs

“If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,' and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.” [James 2:15-17
